Ghanaian sensational afrobeat artist and CEO of Black Avenue Music (BAM) D-Black, has quelled rumors about his association with the New Patriotic Party.
According to him, the President of Ghana His Excellency Nana Akufo Addo was his father’s lawyer, and the congratulatory tweet was a thoughtful indication.
Speaking in an interview at 3FM, D Black said that people should not read meanings into his tweet that congratulated the President after the elections. My pictures with the President were not taken because I was working for the political party.
He mentioned a few examples when industry stakeholders were invited to the Presidents’ house. D-black however, disagreed that his picture taken with the President meant an endorsement of the political party.
”The President was my father’s lawyer when I was growing up as a child. So, I am saying Uncle, well done. How is this throwing my weight behind him?,” He said.
He also agrees that both the country and attitudes need to be fixed. The promises to the creative industry have not been fulfilled, and the music industry is in very awful shape. The music industry is rubbish. We do not have a proper royalty exhibition system. We do not have proper business facilities,” He added.
