Easy Steps In Replacing Your Lost Ghana Card

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has started replacing Ecowas Identity Card aka Ghana Card for citizens and non-citizens who have one way or the other lost their card under various circumstances…The procedure of getting a replacement for the card isn’t as tedious and tiresome as some people have claimed.

Below are some easy ways to get your lost Ghana Card without stress

STEP 1
First on the list is to get a police report from the nearest police station.

STEP 2
When that is done, head to the office of the National Identification Authority to get the card replaced.

STEP 3
On reaching the premises of the NIA, head straight to the first table outside the premises and then officially tell them your card is lost and you want a replacement.

You would be asked questions such as your name and parents.

STEP 4:
You will be directed by an official to another table where you will be issued a paper from the Commissioner of Oath. When that is done, you will then be directed to the main building.

STEP 5:

In the main building, you will be met by an agent who would direct you to the bank to make a payment of GHC30. (If there is a queue to the ‘bank’ you would have to join)

* if you happened to have cash on your momo, you can just skip the queue and go straight to the enquires desk and ask them how you can pay via momo.

STEP 6:
You will receive a message confirming your payment which you would take to the agent you met in step 5. That agent would then direct you on where you should take your police report and commissioners oath.

STEP 7:

After submitting your papers, you would be asked to sit and wait for some time. you will be called by the officer you submitted your forms to for fingerprint verification.
When that is done the officer would then ask you to sit and wait patiently for your card.

STEP 8
Your name would then be mentioned on a PA system to come to the registration centre at this stage, you would be asked to do the fingerprint verification again.
When that is done you would be issued your new Ghana Card.
