The Conference of Heads of Private Second Cycle Schools (CHOPSS) has endorsed the manifesto of the New Democratic Party with the promise of including the private senior schools in the free SHS policy.

According to the group, they believe being included in the free SHS policy will protect all the private senior high schools in Ghana , protect over 10,00 jobs in that particular sector, reduce the pressure on government in it effort in building more infrastructure and also eradicate double track system.

CHOPSS stated, just like how a patient can receive treatment from both public and private hospital with the National Health Insurance Scheme,  the same way should be applied to the free SHS policy thus if a student want to attend a private SHS ,the free SHS policy should follow that particular student.

The groups then appeal to the government and any other political party to work with them to ensure that private sectors are not collapsed in Ghana but should be taken care of to provide access and quality education to all Ghanaian children.
